Android 8.1 Oreo is now rolling out to Nokia 5 and Nokia 6!
According to Juho Sarvikas, the company’s Chief Product Officer, HMD Global started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo to the Nokia 5 and Nokia. In details, the Nokia 5’s Android 8.1 update is available in India, Indonesia (TA-1053), and Tunisia (TA-1053). Meanwhile, the update for Nokia 6 goes official in India. Besides that, both updates come in at under 1GB. The Nokia 5’s update weighs in at 860MB, while the Nokia 6’s update is around 930MB.
The Android 8.1 Oreo update offers some new features such as Neural Networks API, hamburger emoji and developer APIs, the March security patches, a new setting menu. In addition, the new update also packs battery saving navigation buttons, a revamped power menu, and Bluetooth battery percentage. On the other hand, for the direction, users can update their Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 by head to Settings -> System updates and check for a new update while connected to Wi-Fi.
Next, let’s take a closer look at the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 specs. These phones get power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset as the processor. For the memory, Nokia 6 comes in different variants of 3GB/ 4GB RAM with 32GB/ 64GB of onboard storage. Meanwhile, Nokia 5 sports 2GB/ 3GB RAM with 16GB ROM. Both can be expandable up to 256GB.
