Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 July Android Security update

With every new month, come latest Android Security updates for Nokia Android smartphones. It is the first week of July, and Nokia Mobile has rolled out the July Android Security update to their Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones. However, keep in mind these are for the 2017 models. In details, the update for Nokia 6 is 140.9 MB in size and the update for Nokia 5 is 145.1 MB in size. You can find more about Google’s June Security update at Android Security Bulletin.

If you haven’t received the update notification, we would suggest you to manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Updates. For those that are concerned, the July Android Security update brings fixes for a critical security vulnerability in Media framework that could enable a remote attacker. Next, let’s take a closer look at the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 specs. To be specific, these phones get power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset as the processor.

For the memory, Nokia 6 comes in different variants of 3GB/ 4GB RAM with 32GB/ 64GB of onboard storage. Meanwhile, Nokia 5 sports 2GB/ 3GB RAM with 16GB ROM, both can be expandable up to 256GB.
