The next OnePlus phone: Edge-to-Edge notchless display
Based on a recent Counterpoint report, the OnePlus 6 has been a success for the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus in India. As it concerns, the brand at a briefing held in Mumbai today announced that it would open an R&D centre in the country to develop better software. After the presentation, country head, Vikas Agarwal, stated that the next OnePlus smartphone could feature an all-screen (edge to edge) display.
Previously, Oppo and Vivo out to kill the notch entirely with their newly launched flagships, the Find X and the Nex. Speaking about current and upcoming smartphone trends, the general manager mentioned the fullscreen display is a big trend right now. As you know, the OnePlus 6 launched with a near full screen. Thus, an even bigger fullscreen display should be expected on the future phone of OnePlus.
Also, since many brands have come up with pop-up cameras, OnePlus will be more than happy to incorporate the same in their smartphones. According to Agarwal, an edge-to-edge display is an exciting idea. He also emphasised that OnePlus wants to deliver the best possible hardware to customers at the lowest price, which means that it will take time. He shared: “OnePlus has little room to experiment since we have just one smartphone to work with”. While OnePlus 6 is already out in stores, OnePlus 6T model specs are building up.
