Details on the new iPhone SE 4 launch have spread on several platforms for a long time. However, things took a turn this week with the latest surfaced information. Let’s see what we have gathered below!
New iPhone SE 4 information adds to the uncertainty.
Last year, an analyst predicted that the iPhone SE 4 would be canceled. In February this year, he shared new information suggesting that the device is still in development and is expected to be released in 2024.
This second tipster adds that the phone may not arrive before 2025 and that it is going to include a custom 5G modem that Apple is preparing.
Is it simply a technical prototype?
Famous Apple analyst – Ming-Chi Kuo- has returned, bringing more contradictory information on the new iPhone SE 4. According to him, the iPhone SE 4 might be an engineering prototype. Apple may only utilize it to test its in-house 5G baseband chip technology. The gadget may not be mass-produced and might not be available for purchase.
He also stated that Apple intends to mass produce its 5G baseband chip in 2025, but if things go wrong during testing, the company may delay it until 2026 or possibly later.
iPhone 14 design for iPhone SE 4
So, if this information is correct, we may not even see the iPhone SE 4. Ming-Chi Kuo initially stated that the phone would be based on the iPhone 14 design. That would be a significant shift for the series.
Apple’s previous iPhone SE versions all featured the same design. They were all utilizing the iPhone 8 design, which is now and has been for quite some time. As a result, Apple’s decision to attempt something new made sense. However, it appears that this technology will not see the light of day after all.
