A messy desk can be a sign for a Genius, Science explains!

When we were young, many times we have received a complaint from our parents or friends about our working desk. Usually, a messy desk would make people think of others as lazy, unproductive or just careless. On the other hand, clean and organized desk owners are thought to be more responsible, more intelligent. However, a recent study now proves the opposite!

Many researchers from the University of Minnesota have started their study on how students might perform in different areas: a neat environment versus a messy one. In the end, they came to a quite surprising conclusion. “All the participants of the projects who were working in the messy area created as many ideas like the ones in the cleaner section. However, there is a big plot twist after judging them!

However, their ideas are said to be more interesting and creative compared when being evaluated by unbiased judges. Furthermore, their efficiency experts also gave a bit more explanation on this result. He stated that people with messy desks are usually more productive, as they don’t spend as much time cleaning it. Additionally, Albert Einstein famously shared that “If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?”

What are other signs of having higher IQ?

Besides the messy desks, some other signs might prove your inner intelligence level is higher than others. For instance, being a ‘night owl’ is proof of having higher IQ scores. Interestingly, those who could list the most swear words in less than a minute scored higher on the IQ test than those who couldn’t. Who knows?!!
