Mass Effect Andromeda is coming soon this year, and players are really excited about it. There have been some teasers and trailers before, and the game looks gorgeous. Now, we have some new information about the game from the producer!
Mass Effect Andromeda is not open-world, producer says
Since it was leaked, there were a lot of speculations about Mass Effect Andromeda. One popular theory is that the game will be an open-world game, following the trend of many big AAA games. However, that news is not true. In a recent interview, producer Michael Gamble has stated that the game will not be open-world. Having said that, he also added that the game will not exactly be linear, either.
Further elaborate on this, Gamble said that he would not call Mass Effect Andromeda an open-world game. Rather, he would use the term exploration-based game. There will still be the concept of storyline at the core of the game, and other great things players can expect from Mass Effect franchise like the previous entries. From the sound of that, it seems that players can expect similar approach like previous Mass Effect games, which are about structures.
However, there will be a layer of exploration on top of that. The exploration aspect can happen in space, or in some parts of the said story as well. Players can use the Nomad to cruise around some planets, but it will not be a traditional sandbox-type game. In case you are wondering, the Nomad will be the vehicle to use in Andromeda, replacing the Mako from previous installations. Another notable point from the interview is that the game’s sidequests may take some inspiration from the Witcher series.
Mass Effect Andromeda is coming soon!
At last, the anticipated game of the Mass Effect franchise is coming soon. Hopefully it will deliver like previous entries. Are you excited for the game?
