LG G6 to feature Snapdragon 821: The real reason
LG G6 is expected to be announced next month at MWC 2017. Prior information has suggested that the device will feature Qualcomm latest SoC, the Snapdragon 835. However, new rumors have stated that the phone won’t be using this newest chip due to a stock shortage since Samsung Galaxy S8 has taken the entire initial supply of Snapdragon 835. The Galaxy S8 will be available in Korea on April 14, so Qualcomm needs to their partner has enough supply.
However, this would make Snapdragon 835 unavailable to flagship phones from other manufacturers for a while. The same thing may have happened to HTC as their U Ultra arrived with Snapdragon 821. The SND 821 is a good processor, but the SND 835 is far better and can even run a full version of Windows 10. This news will probably affect many Android users out there who are looking for a new flagship this year.
Despite the lack of a SND 835 SoC, LG still claimed that the G6 would be the Ideal Smartphone. In terms of LG G6 specs, it will feature a 5.7″ 2K display, with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The phone is mounted with dual 16MP cameras on the back and a 12MP front camera.
