Kirin 980 chipset specs surfaced online
The Kirin 980 chip is nearing its official launch and today, we got hold of its specs, including the CPU cluster. According to the sources from China, the maximum clock speed of the chip will be 2.8 GHz for the four powerful Cortex-A77 cores. While they will do the performance job, there are four more Cortex-A55 for power-efficiency. According to a report :“The upcoming Kirin 980 chips will adopt Cambricon’s processor IP. Cambricon’s recently-unveiled 1M series is the company’s new-generation AI chip designed using TSMC’s 7nm technology”.
Earlier, rumours brought out that Samsung was the supposed one to produce these alleged 7nm chips. It is also supposed to be 1.5 times faster than the Adreno 630 that is currently paired with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Thanks to the improved manufacturing process, we expect the Kirin 980 to be not only more powerful but considerably more practical than its predecessor – the Kirin 970 – which is currently powering the Huawei P20, P20 Pro and Huawei Honor 10. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the latest edition from Huawei – Honor Note 10!
In terms of the screen, Huawei Honor Note 10 specs feature a large 6.59 screen with a resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels. On the other hand, Huawei Honor Note 10 comes in different variants of storage: 6GB/ 8GB RAM and three ROM options 64GB/ 128GB/ 256GB. Moreover, there is a MicroSD card that can expand the storage up to 256GB. Speaking of the photography, Huawei Honor Note 10 camera equips a dual 16MP (f/1.8) + 24MP B/W snapper on the back. Kirin 980 chipset release date
As far as we know, the first phones to arrive with the Kirin 980 should be Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. And they are both coming in the last quarter of this year. Thus, Kirin 980 chipset would probably make its debut at that same time.
