Apple is really about developing iPhones in India to increase its buyer number. Just a year ago, It closed its shops in India, and now It’s ready to go further in the Indian smartphones industry.

Apple is about to manufacture iPhones in India!

According to a reported news said by Reuter, Subhash Desai, Industries Minister of Maharashtra, “Foxconn is sending a delegation of their officers to scout for locations in a month’s time”. Apple really believes that building iPhones in India is a great occasion to generate and increase the number of its iPhone users. The company knows that it has a large number of competitors in India that are selling good phones with a cheaper price.

Like the iPhone 7 with 32GB at around Rs. 60000, Vs Samsung’s Galaxy S7 with 32GB at a price of 49000. According to Counterpoint Research Market Monitor, Apple might get ready to compete with companies like Samsung and Micromax as iPhone holds only 10% of the smartphones market share in India. Desai also said that Foxconn didn’t make any firm commitment but said the company is planning to manufacture iPhone, iPad, and iPod for Indian and global markets.


Besides that, Apple has already started to invest in some South Asian countries. If it increases its capacity by manufacturing locally, it will definitely develop its presence in Asia. The Indian law also requires foreign enterprises to source at least 30% of the material used in the development of their product. If Apple wants to come out with its own retail stores in India, it will be better to manufacture their products on their own.
