Apple’s iOS 10.1 is now available! What is included in the update?
Apple has just released the updated version of iOS 10 called iOS 10.1. It is said to fix the problems of iOS 10 and bring one noticeable feature to iPhone 7 plus.
iOS 10.1: better performance and Portrait Mode camera
After 41 days since iOS 10, Apple officially released to the public the updated version iOS 10.1. Before the public release, the company gave five betas of version 10.1 to developers and testers. And this is the actually the fourth iOS update after 10.0.1, 10.0.2, 10.0.3. You can install iOS 10.1 by connecting your device to iTunes or downloading it from Settings > General > Software Update.
The latest update is believed to be the solution of bug problems and improves performance better. However, the most noticeable feature included in this new version is Portrait Mode camera added to the iPhone 7 Plus. The Portrait camera mode utilizes the wide-angle and telephoto lenses to create portraits with depth effects. This make the subjects of the photos sharp while also creating blurred background effects.
This photo effect is also known as “bokeh.” But this feature requires proper lighting to ensure the photos look sharp. Nevertheless, we need to remind you that the “bokeh” feature is in beta situation. Apple will continue to make improvements based on feedback from users.
iOS 10.1: Other new features
In the iOS 10.1 update, you can reduce motion for the Bubble and Screen effects in the Messages app. And you can replay the Bubble and Screen effects in the Messages app. The people names will be saved in iCloud backups for photos going forward too. And a bug that caused the audio to be missing from certain text messages has been fixed in iOS 10.1. The new version is available for the following devices: iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later.
