India as a smartphone market has a lot of potentials. It is still growing day by day. Its growth potential is so great that, by 2019, India smartphone shipment may even surpass the US!
India smartphone shipment is going to beat the US by 2019!
Many experts believe that, by 2019, India smartphone shipment may account for almost 15 percent of the market share. That would allow India to surpass the US, which would only reach 10 percent in speculation. Right after them is Brazil with four per cent of market share. This prediction comes from studies carried out by market research and business intelligence portal Statista in Germany. In this report, China is still the leader in smartphone shipment, with nearly half the market, although the firm did not show the exact number.
This year so far, India smartphone shipment recorded an annual growth of 15 percent for the first quarter. That would translate to 29 million units shipped. Statista also noted that 2013 was the first time that total global shipment broke the one billion mark, and we can expect two billion units shipped by 2019. China, the leader, has seen a growth of four percent in Q1. Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, and Huawei have seen tremendous growth rate, and have extended the lead further from famous brands like Apple, Xiaomi, and Samsung!
According to another research firm, Counterpoint Research from New Delhi, global shipment of smartphones reached 11 percent in the first quarter of 2017. It is a good contrast with the same period of last year, where we saw a two percent in decline. Specifically, there was a total of 375 million smartphone units shipped so far this year. It is looking good for the whole market in general, and for India smartphone market specifically as well.
India smartphone shipment is growing nicely!
With all the signs, India once again seems to have a lot of promise as a smartphone market. Many big phone companies have set their eyes on the country. What do you think about this?
