What will happen if Google keeps Android for themselves?
Nowadays, many grand manufactures are running Android on their devices. We can easily name some like Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG and etc. So if one day, Google decides to abandon all third party manufactures, what will happen to them?
Android abandonment – what the replacement of other brands?
It is necessary to remind you that Google hasn’t made any announcement about this issue. We just suppose it will happen one day to have a comprehensive look over the situation. Of course, this is not the time for Google to keep Android for themselves. However, Google is having an intention of leading in market in terms of smartphones, that possibility might become reality someday.
With Samsung, it is reported that all Samsung devices will run Tizen one day. And they are already releasing Tizen devices in developing countries, so it’s just a matter of time before they produce worldwide. About Sony, we can see that they are gradually changing to producing mobile software. Smartphones in the future will not their main focus, and they even intend to jump out of the mobile business.
Another big brand like LG, obviously they won’t be affected much in case this imagination happens. They have their hands in all devices ranging from smartphones to household appliances. LG are integrated WebOS in their future smart TV, so it can be someday that their smartphones will run this operating system too. About HTC, they are cooperating with other companies to manufacture devices, namely HTC Vive.
Android abandonment – will Google do that?
It is reasonable for Google to prevent other manufactures from the integration of Android. They should take a full control of Android like Apple to iOS. Google Pixel is an undeniable success of Google in producing a high-class smartphone. So maybe one day, they will become the monopoly of Android for further development.
