Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 launched quietly on website
As quiet as a mouse, Huawei has added a new model to its Y-series line. Under the name Huawei Y5 Prime 2018, the device appears on the company’s official website without any flashing announcement or advertisement. Unfortunately, this Dual Sim handset misses out a fingerprint sensor which is replaced by Face Unlocking instead. Similarly, Huawei sub-brand Honor also launched the Honor 7 earlier this week which is also an entry level segment device without a fingerprint scanner.
Now let’s take a closer look at its specs! For the design, the Y5 shows off a dual tone finishing with glossy trimming around the edges and camera. We can also see the volume setting and the power button on the right spine. Besides, it equips with a tall18:9 display covered in slimmer bezels, like the present Huawei Y6 2018. Regarding the hardware, Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 specs include a 5.45-inch HD+ display with the resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels.
On top of that, there is a Snapdragon 450 processor at the core, which mates to 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot. Furthermore, the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 camera packs a 13MP camera on the rear panel and a 5MP shooter on the front. In addition, the smartphone runs EMUI 8.1 built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and houses a 3020 mAh battery box. If you want to see more pictures of it, click HERE.
Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 release date and price
As mentioned before, the phone is now available on Huawei’s website in Black, Blue, and Gold color variants. However, the company still hasn’t added any price yet. In our opinion, for an entry-level phone like this, Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 price tag may fall around Rs 6,000-8,000.
