Huawei Smartphone Virtual Assistant
While most of the world thinks of Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant, but not everyone finds them so useful. In details, none of above platforms currently understands the Chinese language, which comes from translation (Amazon) and response. Thus, Huawei is jumping into this untapped market by creating Huawei’s virtual assistant for China.
Multiple international Huawei products are integrating with Google Assistant or Alexa, but none is for Chinese markets yet. If Huawei had its virtual assistant, there is no more waiting for Google and Amazon to add Chinese language support. So far, “HiAsssistant” run only on the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC with EMUI 8.1 and Android Oreo 8.1 or above.
With HiAssistant, some Chinese users can use HiVoice (function as Google Now) to ask for the GPS location of the device, make a phone call. Besides, a user will be able to control nearly every setting on the devices with their voice, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, volume levels, brightness, etc. Besides, they will also be able to search for food, plane tickets, navigation routes and more. Also, HiVision (same as Google Lens) would use your phone’s camera to scan an object and provide further information.
Which smartphones are first likely to sport Huawei Smartphone Virtual Assistant?
Huawei has made no official announcement of HiAssistant, so all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, we can expect the Chinese version Huawei P20 duo upcoming with Kirin 970 Soc to be the first getting this technology.
