According to the latest report, the upcoming Huawei phones are going to drop the notch display design we have seen on their latest handsets. Instead, the Chinese manufacturer is now reportedly working on a new display with a hole for camera sensor up front. Read on for more details!
Upcoming Huawei phones to drop the notch and go for a display hole instead!
Without a doubt, the notch display is one of the hottest trends of 2018. After iPhone X, we have seen many Android smartphones hitting the market with the similar design like Huawei P20 series, Vivo V9 or even the latest Nokia X6 device. However, while helping manufacturers maximise their bezel display, this new design style still meets mixed responses from many fans. Worries not, because it seems like Huawei is getting ready to introduce their resolution to this problem.
Based on a recent report from Korea, Huawei is now working on a brand new smartphone design. In details, they exchange the notch for a display cutout hole which holds the front camera sensor. So, instead of placing the front-facing snapper on the usual notch, they want to put it away from the top bezel. As a result, we can squeeze a bit more display on the front and get rid of the notch. If this new design comes true, then it can signify the end of the notch era in the smartphone world.
However, a new design means further questions arise. Firstly, Huawei needs to think about how they are going to use the extra screen size. Can their general application fit on this new found space? For now, the surfaced photos show a very slim upper bezel housing the earpiece, ambient sensor and the proximity sensor. Additionally, they also mention a possible launch of one new Huawei phone with a gigantic 6.30-inch LCD screen. In line with Huawei’s roadmap, we can expect to meet this handset in Q4 2018.
Will these upcoming Huawei phones start a new trend?
Based on what we know so far, the new display design of Huawei still needs more time for improvement and development. However, if they succeed, this can be the great beginning of a brand new trend!
