Huawei Kirin 980 debuts with Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro
Huawei Krin 980 chipset is the high-end processor of the company. As we learned, Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the two flagships to come with this latest chipset. Additionally, this processor could be the rival of the Snapdragon 845 SoC and the Exynos 9810 chipset. To recall, this processor was introduced at IFA Berlin this year. Compared to its predecessor, Kirin 980 SoC comes with impressive performance and remarkable efficiency.
Previously, the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro come with the predecessor Kirin 970 SoC. Then, Huawei Kirin 980 is the next generation of this Huawei technology. In details, it is the world’s first chipset built on the 7nm manufacturing process. Moreover, this processor is the first chip which matches the baseband with LTE Cat.21. The industry’s highest downlink rate is 1.4Gbps, including 4×4 MIMO 1.2Gbps (three-carrier aggregation) and 2×2 MIMO 200Mbps.
Besides, the chipset comes with a dual NPU design and AI support. On the other hand, beside the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, the Honor Magic 2 can take power from Kirin 980 chipset too.
