Huawei 5G smartphone to arrive soon!
While 4G dominates the scene in 2018, 5G is undoubtedly the king of 2019. In comparison, 5G brings us faster speed, lower latency, and even better interoperability. Moreover, it looks like Huawei is aiming to be the first brand to introduce their 5G phone. At the “Opening the New Mobile Era” sub-forum (2018 Summer Davos Forum), Huawei’s vice chairman and rotating CEO, Hu Houkun stated that they are going to launch the first 5G smartphone in mid-2019.
On the other hand, he also revealed the plan to release some new generation of Huawei mobile phones next year. Moreover, these devices also support the 5G network. Meanwhile, other reports also share that the first Huawei 5G smartphone can equip the new Kirin 980 chipset. Notably, this processor is the first chip which matches the baseband with LTE Cat.21. The industry’s highest downlink rate is 1.4Gbps, including 4×4 MIMO 1.2Gbps (three-carrier aggregation) and 2×2 MIMO 200Mbps.
Additionally, the Kirin 980 supports 256QAM and is the fastest 4.5G product. Moreover, it can choose to utilise Balong 5000 which fully supporting 5G independently. If you look at the release history of the Mate series, we can expect a Mate phone to drop in the quarter 3 of 2019. And that lines up nicely with this 5G feature announcement. As for the new Huawei Mate device, we expect to sport 6GB or even 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. Furthermore, there is a high chance of a triple-lens cameras system and up to 4000mAh battery box as well.
