First Huawei 5G smartphone: new cooling tech, ten times faster than its 4G!
Previously, we have reported that Huawei is aiming to be the first OEM to release the world’s first 5G-enabled smartphone. Today, a report from DigiTimes revealed all the key suppliers for the first Huawei 5G smartphone. Notably, the Chinese brand has decided to partner with different manufacturers for various components. Notably, one of the latest techs of this upcoming handset is its new Cooling module. This is an exclusive product of Taiwan-based Auras Technology.
On the other hand, Auras technology’s chairman YS Lin is reported to have noted that 5G technology is more than ten times faster than its 4G counterparts. As a result, such devices ought to adopt high-performance thermal solutions. Based on the latest report, the company began the trial production last week and is going to start the fulfilment process (flow production) in September this year.
Moreover, the new Cooling module is said to be made from copper sheets and would be 0.4mm thin. With such design, the blade is capable of dissipating higher temperatures faster than graphite sheets found in current smartphones. According to a presentation slide shared at the Chinese company’s global analyst summit in Shenzhen, Huawei plans to debut their first 5G phone in the second half of next year. Before that period, the first Huawei 5G mobile hotspot will launch in the second quarter of 2019. What’s interesting is that both the future hotspot and smartphone will feature Huawei-designed modems to attain those 5G speeds. On another note, other phone manufacturers such as Nokia has also indicated interest in manufacturing 5G smartphone. For now, it’s unclear if Huawei would be the first brand to hit the market with the device.
