HTC Exodus 1 specs
Back in May, HTC has quietly unveiled their next premium device after the U11 duo – HTC U12 Plus. However, it seems like this new flagship isn’t the only high-end smartphone which HTC is planning to release this year. According to HTC, they have been preparing to launch their first ever blockchain based smartphone this year. Moreover, the Taiwanese company stated in an official statement that Exodus is going to be“the first cold wallet phone with key recovery.”
After a long time waiting, HTC officially unveiled this blockchain-focused phone – the Exodus 1. For now, the device is available for pre-order and expected to ship out in December. Notably, the most highlight feature of this HTC beast is the Zion crypto wallet that was developed by the company. In details, it uses the security enclave of the Snapdragon 845 chipset to keep your keys hidden from untrusted parts of the OS (Android Oreo) and apps.
Furthermore, Zion can turn the HTC Exodus 1 into your hardware cryptocurrency wallet. But what if you lose your handset? No worries, the Social Key Recovery now allows you to pick several trusted people in such a way that if they all come together, they can recreate your important private key. The system is called Shamir’s Secret Sharing or key sharding. Regarding other hardware, the HTC Phone comes with a 6” 1440p+ display (18:9). It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Regarding HTC Exodus 1 camera, it sports dual cameras on its back (16MP main module) and another 8MP selfie sensor. The phone has a 3,500mAh battery and IP68 water resistance.
