Huawei seems to unveil a new mid-range Android smartphone before the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona which will take place at the end of February: The Honor 8 Lite. Let’s have a look at Huawei’s latest flagship.
Honor 8 Lite Specs and Features
Just a few months ago, the Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched its Honor 8. The smartphone for just 350€ offered a strong overall package and convinced with its successful camera technology as well as the sharp display. In the run-up to the Mobil World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona there are first shots of its little brother, the Honor 8 Lite which also has a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels that is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
Unlike the Honor 8 which sports a Kirin 950 processor with 4GB of RAM, the downgraded version is powered by an octa-core Kirin 655 mobile processor alongside with 3GB of Ram paired with 16GB of ROM that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Furthermore, Android 7.0 nougat is likely to be used as the operating system, aa 3,000 mAh non-removable battery keeps the light on and there is a fingerprint scanner that is located on the back.
In terms of photography, the company added a 12MP rear camera withanF2.2 aperture, fast autofocus and an 8-megapixel front shooter with 77-degree angle view. Besides of the same design which can be seen on the leaked photos, there are some differences between these phones. Compared to its bigger brother, the Honor 8 Lite does not have a dual rear camera, it just has one on the back. Furthermore, there is no USB-Type C connector like in the original version. Instead of that, the Honor 8 Lite offers only a micro-USB port.
Honor 8 Lite Price and Availability
The Honor 8 Lite can be pre-ordered now in Finland for €269 and will go on sale in two weeks, exactly on February 17. The smartphone is available in four colors: black, blue, gold and white. But, it will initially be available in black and white. Black and Blue options will come at the end of March.
