Nokia has confirmed their comeback for next year, and the company in charge of taking the brand back to glory will be HMD. So who or what is HMD? In short, HMD is like a second Nokia company! More specifically, even though this is an external company, HMD Global has 16 out of 17 executives is originally from Nokia! HMD will work closely with Nokia, Google, and FIH (subsidiary of Foxconn, for manufacturing) to produce upcoming Nokia smartphones, and all will run Android, as stated by HMD.

It has been reported that Nokia is working on four different devices, and the most talked about is the D1C, which is supposed to be introduced in MWC 2017. Initial AnTuTu benchmark result showed that the device will have Snapdragon 430 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, Full HD screen and 13MP/8MP cameras (rear and front). HMD has stated that the company will keep what makes Nokia geat: the beautiful design, user-friendliness, durability and quality. It is interesting to see HMD incorporate these aspects in a modern-day smartphone.

On the competitive edges for this Nokia comeback, there are still many in favor of Nokia now. Firstly, the brand value. Everyone and their mothers know of Nokia, that is a fact. Even though the brand has stalled on making phones for a while, the brand value is still extremely high.
