The 3-in-1 Graalphone: Weirdest Phone at CES

We have seen lots of weird phones at CES 2017. Yet, it does not finish. The weirdest phone so far has just introduced, Graalphone. What does make it so weird? Let’s take a look.

The 3-in-1 Graalphone: phone, keyboard and camera

The phone is the product of Raoul Parienti, a French entrepreneur with more than 100 patients. His invention included an electric car-sharing scheme used in France, the NFC card that Parisian suburbanites use to pay their train fares, and a bunch of other things. The Graalphone included a small touch screen Android smartphone that  slides into a “sleeve” with a 7-inch glasses-free 3D screen. The screen on the sleeve in turn slides up to reveal a full hardware keyboard.

Talking about the processor, the small phone has a Qualcomm processor while the sleeve would have an Intel Atom and be able to run Windows 10. Both parts shared storage and connectivity. In terms of camera, the phone has itself a camera and the sleeve also equipped a second camera with Xenon flash and 5x optical zoon. The two cameras could combine to make a 3D camera.

However, the mockup that we see right now has many problems. Nothing turns on, the screen is floppy and the keyboard is mushy – it is just an IDEA. If the phone is so small as we look in the mockup, it would be the smallest. While Parienti said that he wants to equip a 3000mAh battery. We can’t see how they can put that battery pack inside a tiny body. The Graalphone is less about the details than the idea behind it.

Graalphone: availability

Parienti expected his phone will coming in late 2017, as what we have seen on Graalphone’s website. And, Perienti does not want to make it by themselves. They are trying to sell the idea to the bigger phone manufacturers. The world of creativity is infinitive, we could see more and more weird thing that might come. So who knows, one day, it would come true.
