Google Pixel midrange smartphone launches in India
According to four senior industry executives, the Alphabet company is planning to make an aggressive move in India. As far as we learn, the company will include a new mid-range smartphone in partnership with Diwali. Besides the Pixel handset, there would be the launch of Pixelbook soon. According to our sources, Google sold 3.9 million Pixel smartphones globally in 2017 while Apple sold 214.9 million devices.
Meanwhile, Google also expects to spend a lot on marketing for its consumer products and plans to take on rivals as Apple, Samsung and Amazon. On another level, Google is also looking to join the intelligent home automation market with its Nest products like a doorbell, alarm system, and smoke detector, hopefully, next year. Additionally, Google is still new to the hardware game and Apple has already established itself as a premium brand.
On the other hand, Google Pixel series of smartphones are famous for their unprecedented camera capabilities. Unlike Moto or Xiaomi smartphones, the Pixel devices retail at a higher price tag. Meanwhile, Google is now targetting markets like India, which has a huge demand for budget smartphones priced between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000., which includes an affordable Pixel smartphone, Pixelbook and Nest devices. Additionally, the company will launch the Pixel 3 series of smartphones by Diwali.
Google future plans for the smartphone industry
