While there are more and more updates about the two next Nexus phones from Google. Suddenly some new leaks on the internet hint that Google will… cancel the Nexus series for good! Take a look!
Google Nexus series: Shot dead or reborn with another new name?
First, let’s take a look at what we already know about the two new phones from the Nexus series. HTC Nexus S1 (Sailfish) has just been spotted on Antutu with a 5-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, a 13MP main camera and a glass-metal design. Meanwhile, the HTC Nexus M1 (Marlin) is hinted to be fully covered with metal and pack a 5.5-inch full HD screen and the same CPU as Nexus M1. Both phones are also reported to run Android 7.0 Nougat!
Back to the news, according to the latest leaked images on the internet, Google is going to abandon the Nexus series. HTC is still the manufacturer but the next two phones will not be named “Nexus”. Instead, as you can see in the leaked pictures, the two Nexus handset will be rebranded to “G”, which we bet, stands for Google!
And that’s not the only hint! According to the FCC certification, the two code names of Nexus S1 Sailfish and Nexus M1 Marlin are respectively G- 2PW2100 and G-2PW4100. So at this point, there is 90% chance the Nexus series will be postponed for good. The question is: What is the reason behind this change?
Google Nexus series: What is Google’s plan?
Don’t you think it’s kinda unwise to change the name only a month before the announcement of the two new devices? However, we bet there are some reasons behind this. The first possible case is that Google wants to make a strong declaration that these phones, though produced by HTC, are actually Google’s asset! Another possible case is that Google wants to run away from the failure of the Nexus series. This new name is like a rebirth of Google’s handsets. However, let’s wait until Google finally speak and explain about these rumours and leaks! Stay tuned to keep yourself up-to-date guys!
