Walking Dead is a widely popular TV series, but the next Walking Dead game is going to bring “the walkers” into the real world. In details, the “Walking Dead: Our World” upcoming mobile release will be a location-based augmented reality (AR) experience. The game is published by Finnish studio Next Games, who is behind the mobile strategy game “The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land”. Besides, the AR feature is similar to Pokemon Go, which fully immerses the gamers the action of the hit TV show.

Similar to Pokémon Go’s debut trailer, Our World first teaser looks highly aspirational without any direct gameplay. Instead, it presents players fighting off the undead in places and fending them off using a range of weapons. There are also virtual characters from the show such as Rick, Daryl, and Michonne. Recently, the company has released a new teaser, which explains the gameplay, which is almost similar to the Pokemon Go.

Further, AR enables players to live through the fight for survival in a whole new way in their familiar surroundings. With Google Maps, the game provides the most up-to-date location data. In details, the Walking Dead uses location-based data and Google Maps to create virtual zombies and other articles. As a result, users have to get out of their comfort zone to spot the Zombies in the real world. By then, gamers can kill them thanks to real-time FPS experience.
