Samsung is depending on the Galaxy S8 to move the company in the right direction again, after the Note incident. However, one of the feature people take for granted, the Galaxy S8 dual camera, may not be presented!
Galaxy S8 dual camera will not be true?
The Galaxy S8 dual camera has been taken for granted as a default feature. It is understandable, since dual camera seems to be the trend now. Galaxy Note 7, despite the exploding incidents, were praised for its design and features, and a dual camera set up is one of the highlights. It has also been reported numerous times in the last few months that this feature will be there on the new S8. However, a recent report has contradicted all of those, and the dual rear camera for the S8 may not be true after all.
This report is from China, so you should just take this piece of rumor with a grain of salt. This source has been reliable a few times in the past, and it says that basically the idea of a Galaxy S8 dual camera just “fell through”. A single sensor will be used instead. Whether it was because of a change in direction, or a deal with supplier fell through, or even some internal problems, we do not know yet.
For now, no reasons are given (or even speculated) for the sudden change in strategy of Samsung. However, Samsung itself still plans on using the dual camera for future devices. The gist here is that the company is not against the technology itself, just that it MAY NOT use it for the S8 yet. So we can still look forward to future Samsung smartphones. On the front camera, the Galaxy S8 may feature a selfie shooter with auto-focus, a rare feature for front shooters, so there’s still that for camera lovers!
Galaxy S8 dual camera: Only rumors for now!
You should not worry too much about the future of the Galaxy S8 dual camera set up, as we still need official words from Samsung. Just take this piece of news with a grain of salt, and look forward to the device itself. Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be introduced in MWC in February.
