FlexPai: the world’s first foldable phone with Snapdragon 8150 chipset!
Before the year 2018, we finally get the chance to meet the world’s first foldable smartphone! Surprisingly, the handset doesn’t come from LG or Samsung, but a small California-based company and is called the Royole FlexPai. In details, the smartphone is a tablet, and as unfolded it boasts a 7.8” screen (with 4:3 aspect ratio). Folded, that drops to a more manageable 4-inch. Regarding the screen, it’s an AMOLED that folds down the middle.
Secondly, the company paired this device with Android 9 Pie straight out of the box complete with its UI, dubbed Water OS. Additionally, the new software of this gadget also switches to using only half of the screen, displaying a wallpaper on the other half. Besides, users can pick which one to use, though people usually prefer the bigger screen. On the other hand, the handset measures 7.6mm thick, while it’s thicker than 15.2mm when folded (certainly near the “hinge”).
As for FlexPai specs, this device offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, but other options include 8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB. Furthermore, this device is also the first gadget to use the 7nm Snapdragon 8150 processor! Regarding the FlexPai camera, the handset equips a dual 16MP rear snapper and another 20MP secondary sensor. When unfolded, it can perform as a selfie camera, and when the hinge is in use, it can become a rear camera. Lastly, the device features a 3800mAh battery box. There is also the proprietary Ro-Charge fast charging tech support. Notably, it goes from 0% to 80% in an hour.
