Not so long ago, Samsung confirms their foldable phone – Samsung Galaxy X with bezel-less design and stunning specs. After the scandal of the battery issue, Apple just released a patent of this foldable iPhone to the community today. According to our sources, this patent filed on March 29, 2017, while there exists the partnership of LG on this foldable phone display. With the new technology, the new iPhone-sized handset is expandable to an iPad.
As reports have mentioned before, Apple has partnered with LG to develop its first foldable iPhone display. In details, LG Innotek joins in developing a flexible printed circuit board. Meanwhile, LG Display takes care of the foldable display. Based on the latest updates, there are two display parts, which connects to each other by means of hinges. These hinges ables the device to fold up as revealed in sketches.
For the display type, it seems that Apple depends completely on its rival, Samsung, to produce OLED display. However, Apple also would like to take this OLED display from LG for higher production and lower cost. Meanwhile, since LG is busy working on the foldable display, users have to wait a little longer for this technology to happen in the near future.
