Under the hood, Essential Phone has a 2.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, while Google Pixel XL houses a 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. Google Pixel XL’s default OS is Android 7.1 Nougat, and we expect the Essential Phone to be similar in that regard too. Both phones have a fingerprint sensor located at the back.
