Yes, you heard that right. Esports will basically become on official competitive event at the 2022 Asian Games. This is the first time ever that this has happened. The news has been announced recently by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). Even earlier, the game will make an entrance as a demonstration event at the next Asian Games in 2018, held in Indonesia. this will serve is a runner-up to its official inclusion as a medal sport of the big event in 2022 in Hangzhou, China.
Also, there will also be a preview of what is to come when esports will be included as a main event in the coming Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG). For now, only FIFA 17 has been confirmed to appear at the event. However, according to the schedule, there will also be a multiplayer online battle arena game (like League of Legends, DotA, etc.) and a real-time strategy game (like Starcraft). Hopefully there will be some coverage of the event!

Alisport will sponsor the event in the future. Last year, the company put in $150 million in the International eSports Federation from South Korea, which submitted the request for the inclusion of the game in the Asian Games.
