India is known for producing decent smartphones at a very cheap price (and we mean, phones can’t get cheaper than that!). However, one phone is going to be one of the cheapest Indian smartphones ever: the new ChampOne C1!
ChampOne C1: sold at Rs501 ($7.5)?
A new low-end smartphone has just emerged from India, the home of the cheapest smartphones ever made. This new phone is called ChampOne C1. What’s so special about this phone, you ask? Well, apparently, you can buy this phone for just Rs501 ($7.5)! Is it even possible for a phone to have that price? It’s too good to be true!
While it is true that you can buy the phone at that price, this is only a flash sale, and there’s a catch: you have to be a registered customer of the company, ChampOne Communications. For that, you have to register for ChampOne Clean Master, which is assumed to be an app. Also, you need to pay Rs51 (less than $1!). After that, you will be given serial number that can be used for the flash sale. Even after all that, it’s still very cheap!
However, the company seems to be facing issues with its payment gateway lately. Registrations will not be possible for the next 24 hours. Avenues India, the company’s payment gateway partner, said that it is possible that the servers are down (maybe due to too many people trying to register – honestly, who wouldn’t?). The “Buy Now” button on the company website is also broken for now. They promised that it will be fixed as soon as possible. For your information, the flash sale of ChampOne C1 will be on September 2, from 11:00am.
ChampOne C1: specs and true prices
Without the flash sale, the ChampOne C1 price is actually Rs7,999 ($119), which is also very cheap already. Some notable ChampOne C1 specs are its 1.3Ghz quad-core Mediatek MT 6735 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage. The processor is in fact the same as Coolpad Note 3 Lite. It will sport a 5.0″ HD display, and there will be a rear and front camera combo of 8MP/5MP. ChampOne Communications even includes a fingerprint sensor and 4G compatibility for this phone. In the end, with its full price, you can still get a very decent phone at a very cheap price!
