The best Skyrim Special Edition mods
Skyrim Special Edition (SSE) has been launched, with improved graphics to make use of newer devices’ processing power. However, some of the old problems have not been fully fixed. Here are some of the best Skyrim Special Edition mods to do just that!
1. Unofficial Skyrim Patch
As we mentioned, Skyrim Special Edition did not fix any of the problems in the original version. In fact, it just looks better, as graphics have been enhanced. Everything else stays the same. Understandably, it is up to modders to fix this in a game easily moddable as Skyrim. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch gives you what you need to fix all the problems presented in the game so far.
This patch can be said to be very important for playing and enjoying the game. It contains hundreds of fixes to already known bugs and errors about texts, items, quests and other gameplay elements. This mod of the game was made by prolific modder Arthmoor. It is designed to be as compatible with other mods as possible. If you want to enjoy the game free from glitches and bugs from the original game, you should install this mod.
2. Achievement Mod Enabler
Modding does not equal to cheating (in most of the case anyway). It has irritated players for a while that if you use mods, the achievement will be disabled for SSE. Now you can do that by installing this Achievement Mod Enabler, by xSHADOWMANx. This plugin will enable your achievement records when you are using mods. However, you have to install install this manually, not through he likes of Nexus Mod Manager.
3. Total Character Makeover
Skyrim’s NPCs already look odd when it was released, and the bad news is, they have not aged very well, even in the SSE. The new SSE may improve the landscapes and environment (they are indeed beautiful), but those NPCs basically stay the same, and they do not look very good. This mod from Scaria ill give everyone in the game, including your avatar, a big facelift that won’t interfere with performance, while making sure characters do not look out of place.
4. True 3D Sounds for Headphones
SSE has delivered on the graphics, but the sound still stays the same, and it is quite disappointing. If you want to have a more realistic experience with the game, try out this mod from CptYouaredead. It will enhance the sounds of the game, especially when you are wearing headphones. With a headphone, you can hear exactly from which direction the sound is coming from.
5. The Forgotten City
Skyrim has no shortage of contents, including main quests and sidequests. However, writer and developer Nick Pearce has added 10 or so more hours to the game with this mod. You will have to try to solve a mysterious murder while exploring a huge and ancient city. The writing is excellent, voice acting is great, soundtracks is also incredible. There is also a little bit of time travel there too!
The best Skyrim Special Edition mods
Those are the best Skyrim Special Edition mods that you can install to make your game much more enjoyable. It is recommended to use programs such as Nexus Mod Manager to integrate those mods to the game (except the second one). Hopefully you will be able to fully enjoy the game with these mods. PS4 owners will also be able to have mods soon too!
