Battlefield 1 Single Player Campaign: WWI in your face!
Battlefield 1 is already available to purchase on all platforms. It is one of the most anticipated games of the holiday. We have recently learned through the Play First Trial many new features of the game. Now that the main game is out, the Battlefield 1 single player mode stood out a lot!
Battlefield 1 Single Player Campaign: WWI in your face!
World War I (WWI) is not a very hot topic for Hollywood movies and game makers. Usually all eyes are the great WWII, and for good reason also: it shaped the world in a much drastic manner than WWI, and there are many legends about it. However, the Battlefield 1 single player mode almost single-handedly does WWI justice. Although there are some events and facts here and there that have been altered somewhat to fit with the game, we can truly experience the significance of WWI right in front of our eyes!
Playing the single player campaigns, one thing is clear: war is hell. Throughout the campaigns, we will be able to witness the war through the eyes of five different characters (even a pigeon). From those perspectives, the war is portrayed on a level never possible before. The improved graphics, the sounds – everything contributes to make you feel the true brutality and fatality of the war. What we have seen may actually have been what happened back in those days. Different battlefields, from North Africa to France, to the forests of the Alps, we can see the destruction war brought to every place.
The most intriguing factor of the campaigns is that, we really have a sense of inferiority and helplessness there. Playing the game, we took the roles of insignificant characters and we can really feel it. Usually, the single player mode is where players usually feel invincible the most, but that is not the case here. The game has done a great job instilling the mindset of those soldiers to the players: don’t expect to survive. The inclusion of many one-sided battles s great, as it further illustrates that characters we play as are just pawns of the whole scheme, and we feel that way too.
Battlefield 1 Single Player Mode: More than just a game!
Not many games manage to capture the essence of war as well as Battlefield 1 does, and even more so on the topic of WWI. Never would gamers imagine a game could be a good history reference. This time, the publishers have truly outdone themselves here, to capture the feel and essence of the war, and they deserve praise for that. Battlefield 1 is already out since October 21. Now you can experience WWI with your own eyes!
