Apple Pay is now live in Brazil
For those who have no ideas about Apple Pay, it is the mobile payment and digital wallet service from the brand. However, Apple’s expansion efforts for its digital payment platform might have slowed down a bit. According to our sources, Apple payment service has been expanded to Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the United Arab Emirates markets. As far as it concerns, Brazil market joined the race today.
Meanwhile, Apple stands behind in the vast Latin American market while Google and Samsung already have their solutions in the countries. Moreover, Apple Pay in Brazil includes brick and mortar stores, Track & Field sporting goods stores, and on-board websites and apps. Besides, the service supports food and drink places like Fast Shops, General Prime Burger restaurants and Starbucks coffee shops.
However, Apple Pay depends much on the third parties supports permissions when purchasing digital payment game. In general, Apple is off to a strong start with a 90-day exclusive launch partnership with the nation’s top private lender – Itaú Unibanco Holding. Also, the company has expanded its support to 1.2 million VISA or Mastercard holders. Besides, iDevices users can now pay using a compatible iPhone, Apple Watch or other Apple devices.
What would we expect in the digital payment industry from Apple?
After the 90-day Itaú exclusivity deal ends, Apple expects to announce partnerships with other financial institutions across the country. In our opinion, the e-payment competition is harsh to most of us. We hope Apple will stand up a little more. What do you think about Apple strategy on this?
