Apple iPhone X flagship accounted for 35% of the smartphone industry’s profits!
Recently, Counterpoint Research has released some interesting information on the business channel CNBC. Notably, Apple witnessed a 1% increase in the profits of the last quarter in 2017. Moreover, the handset which was responsible for the most significant earnings of this US tech giant was the Apple iPhone X flagship! Additionally, the iPhone X accounts up to 35% of smartphone profits, despite being available for only two months in the fourth quarter.
On the other hand, Apple iPhone X flagship also accounted for 21% of global smartphone revenue for the three month period. Besides, the iPhone X gained five times the profits produced by 600 Android smartphone manufacturers in this period. “The share of iPhone X is likely to grow as it advances further into its life-cycle. Notably, these brands started releasing mid-to-high-end handsets, which have raised their average selling prices. Overall, many smartphone makers were hurt by the ever-stretching upgrade cycle. While being affected by the situation, Apple was still responsible for 86% of all smartphone profits from October through December 2017.
