HOT: Important Apple iOS 9 source code leaks and ends up on GitHub!
Recently, many users have sported Apple’s iBoot program for Apple iOS 9 on GitHub website. Who is the person behind this leak? Read on to find out now!
Apple iOS 9 source code ended up on GitHub, what happened?!
Previously, the most significant leak in Apple history has taken place. In details, the important source code for Apple’s iBoot program has appeared on GitHub, a web-based hosting service. As a result, everyone now has a sneak peek of what Apple’s developing for their upcoming iOS. There is a high chance that hackers can use the information from this system to decrypt Apple iPhones and cause trouble with it. So, who is the “mastermind” behind the leak?
To break through Apple’s high-security level, we might have guessed they would be a skillful computer genius. You are going to be surprised about the truth! Back in 2016, an intern has helped his friends who were members of the jailbreaking community to code. According to them, they wanted to have the code for their research. As reported by Motherboard, this intern has taken the additional sources code and file name.
Moreover, one of the five members shared that the intern has stolen “all sorts of Apple internal tools and whatnot.” Initially, the original group who had the stolen Apple iOS 9 code committed to not sharing them to others. However, the member then stated to share it with their friends, thus making the group lost track of the code’s distribution. And this February, a user has decided to post it on GitHub. On the other hand, what made it to the Apple iOS 9 development platform was not the entire leak. Notably, one of the group members said: “What leaked (the other day) isn’t even the full leak. It’s not the original leak—it’s a copy.”Â
What does Apple have to say about Apple iOS 9 leak?
According to the latest update, Apple shared that they have known about the missing code before its leak. However, the US tech giant seems unfazed about the situation. Furthermore, they went ahead and confirmed: “The security of our products doesn’t depend on the secrecy of our source code.” What do you think about Apple’s confidence? Drop a comment to let us know!
