Yesterday, on June 8, Apple has just announced the next version of iOS, unsurprisingly called iOS 9. This latest version of Apple’s mobile platform is targeted to make their iphones smarter and more powerful. First improvement is the major upgrade to Siri virtual assistant. This is a new intelligent search assistant, greater speed and security.
iOS 9: more intelligent with Siri assistant
Basically, Siri is designed to be like a version of Google. It offers app suggestions based on your preferences and gives users information about the distance to their destinations. A special feature called Proactive lets Siri see what apps are already on the phone. Therefore, it can suggest useful ones to help complete the tasks users want to do.
Apple revealed that Siri can also look into your inbox to ID incoming calls that aren’t in your address book. All of this is wrapped into a new user interface for Spotlight that appears when you swipe down on a home screen in iOS.
iOS9 is also more interesting for the iPad Split View allows two apps to be open and active at the same time on the same screen. Picture in Picture scales a video down in size so you can keep watching a TV show while you reply to an email.
iOS 9: boost your phone’s security
Security has been improved in iOS 9 to help fend off hackers. iOS 9 will support all devices currently running iOS 8, available as a free update in the fall. Also, it will gives your iphone and ipad 4 extra battery hours to browse all the apps you want.
The iOS 9 developer beta is available today, and the public beta will be available in July. Public release is scheduled for September at the earliest. We will keep you updated about this new flatform iOS 9 from the giant Apple!
