Apple released apologising letter and offered the discount!
Previously, Apple has admitted to intentionally slowing down their iPhones, especially the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. According to them, this will help iPhones to work at their best performance. The American tech giant explained that once you use the iPhone for a long time, the battery will start to decrease its capacity. Once the powerhouse corrupts, it won’t be able to support your iPhone at maximum ability. As a result, your iPhone might shut down suddenly to prevent any damage to the internal hardware.
And today, the company has published an apology letter: “A Message to Our Customers about iPhone Batteries and Performance.” In this letter, Apple admitted that they had let their customers down. Furthermore, they also denied the accusation of planned obsolescence. In details, many iPhone users in the US have submitted their lawsuits against this tech company. They claimed that slowing down the old iPhone when the newest flagships launched is a trick to push people into buying the new units.
Initially, Apple said that the users of iPhone 6 to iPhone 6s Plus (including the iPhone SE), were experiencing slowdowns. They blamed this situation to “a normal, temporary performance impact when upgrading the operating system. Furthermore, it can be due to iPhone installs new software and apps. On the other hand, there are also minor bugs in the initial release which they had fixed.” For now, they are offering a 63% discount for replacing the iPhone battery. Users now only need to pay $29 to change into a new powerhouse.
