A new ultra-cheap Xiaomi device for under PHP 3000
Although now Xiaomi is a popular brand in not both domestic market as well as global area with various devices in their porfolio. But needless to say, its fame significantly thanks to the original Redmi (possibly called Hongmi) of 2013. The phone was known as a super cheap handset which was sold like a hot cake, with global consumers readily to pay up to 2x the original cost of the phone. After that, Xiaomi rapidly followed it up with the Redmi 1S and recently Xiaomi Redmi 2, retails around 110 USD. And now, Xiaomi reportedly plans to beat that.
As you possibly know, last year, we heard about the Xiaomi-Leadcore device was showed up on TENAA. The phone was rumored to be priced at impressive 399 Yuan (PHP 2897). Recently, Xiaomi representative said that the 399 Yuan Xiaomi phone is impossible. But now, at least, we know that the phone is real but will be cost at higher price tag than first expectation, expected to around $70-75 USD. The phone was created as an entry-level Xiaomi phone which will highly stand in between the original Redmi and the Redmi 1S in term of specs. As previous report, the phone will be shipped with 4.7″ screen, Leadcore LC1860C SoC, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front camera, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage and will boot Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Observing from the leaked photo, which only showed the back of the device, the design of the phone is much similar to the Redmi 2, the latest Redmi from Xiaomi.
The device is firsly rumored at 399 Yuan (64 USD), but it seems that the expected price is impossible  and it will suggest a higher price, hopefully a number between $65 and the Redmi 2’s $110.
In conclusion: If the phone truly comes with us, at a expected price from USD 65-100 (or PHP 2900 – 4912), the phone will be very hot. Besides, this could be the begin of what Xiaomi aims to lead the entry-level segment.
