Lenovo is going to be the first brand to release a 5G smartphone!
Previously, we have brought you the news about many smartphone manufacturers jumping to the 5G smartphone race. Notably, the two strongest opponents in the competition are Huawei and Samsung. According to the latest report, Huawei has also begun on their work for their first 5G handset. Notably, the Chinese brand has been working with many smartphone component companies to produce the hardware needed. On the other hand, it seems like Huawei has another strong rival to watch out! In a recent Weibo post, Lenovo’s VP, Chang Cheng, has shared his company process on the 5G smartphone. Notably, he stated that Lenovo is going to be the final winner next year by releasing the first 5G smartphone using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chip. Unfortunately, he deleted the post shortly after the publication. So now we might have to wait and see if Chang Cheng’s statement can come true or not next year.
On another note, many chipset brands have reportedly begun their work for a 5G support chipset in smartphones. Notably, we have Qualcomm with their Snapdragon 855 processor, Huawei and their product of 5G devices. Last month, Taiwanese MediaTek company finally announced their plan to launch their first 5G baseband chip – Helio M70! Besides, the Helio M70 is going to be among the first ones to support 5Gbps connections. As a result, it can become the head rival, fighting against Qualcomm, the Snapdragon X50 modem of which is doing the same but on its platform. Until now, many carriers have been testing 5G networks for a long time.
