India seems to be fighting to be the country with the most enabled 4G smartphones. Let’s see what India is planning about this tech future.
200 Million 4G smartphones in India?
It is reported that it will sell nearly 200 million 4G smartphones in the next 5 years. India may be planning to take the technology to another level, it’s planning to deliver smartphones that provide a fast network to users. A new report claimed on Thursday that around 60 million 4G smartphones will be delivered in India in 2017, said by the analysts from market research firm Counterpoint Research. In what concerns the Hardware Revenues, it will be a problem or an investment of $ 6 billion opportunities to be made in India in the next 5 years.
The most important players in this investment are actually Itel, Lava, Jio and Nokia, these smartphones manufacturers are those fighting to deliver more 4G smartphones with a fast network. Chipset brands like Qualcomm with its latest Qualcomm 205 platform which is designed for 4G LTE Feature Phones is poised to drive growth starting with the end of Q2 2017. Even though we saw a decent growth of 3% in the smartphone market in 2016, the Industry still delivered more than 400 million 4G devices in 2016 (Globally).
So what reports are worried about is that ” the smartphones growth slowing down and the feature phones decline to slow down, which is the polarization of market in terms of technology as well as user base”. So we will definitely see some types of High-end 4G smartphones selling in the next 5 years, with a cheaper price and better core value proposition. It is believed that more that half billion 4G phones will be sold worldwide in the next 5 years.
