Mobile phones in general and smartphones in particular are developing a lot recently. However, if you want to know what handsets are the best in the past 15 years, here is your answer! Check out the following list now! (Source)
1. Nokia 3310
First of all, it is Nokia 3310. It was famous for being hard to be broken or destroyed. And moreover, Nokia 3310 specs were full of amazing features for its time, especially its battery, capable of 900mAh only but able to last up to 260 hours of standby or 4.5 hours of talking time.
And do you remember the Snake game pre-installed on the Nokia 3310? We never felt bored to play it. In general, Nokia 3310 is really an iconic device of all time.
2. Nokia 1100
Coming up next is another Nokia phone called Nokia 1100. In about five years, 250 million units of Nokia 1100 were reported to ship all over the world. One of its highlight was the 850mAh battery enabling the machine to last up to 400 hours between charging times.
3. Moto Razr V3i
Number three is a Motorola’s product, or a flip phone named Moto Razr V3i to be exact. At that time, it was well-known for having 8x digital zoom, and you could even add an external SD card up to 1GB. Cool, rite?! In terms of design, many people considered it as the best looking phone ever made. What d’you think?
4. Nokia N-Gage
Here we’ve got another Nokia phone: Nokia N-Gage. Actually, it was not very successful, but still iconic for being an original device for those who love playing games. Well, it really looks like a games console!
5. Nokia 9500
If Nokia 1100 and Nokia 3310 were made for general consumers and Nokia N-Gage for gamers, Nokia 9500 was for business users. Yeah, it seems like a normal phone, but you know what, it did sport two screens (“a fully functional interior screen, and a restricted-function external screen”) and two keyboards (a normal one and a full QWERTY keyboard).
6. Nokia 6600
It’s pretty chubby, right?! But somehow we love it so much haha. According to some reports, this phone is perhaps the best known Nokia product in India, just after Nokia 3310 and Nokia 1100. It owned Symbian OS, a decent camera for its time, an integrated voice recorder, Bluetooth connectivity, and an IR port.
7. Nokia 5200
Next, it is Nokia 5200, a lovely, fashionable phone for most young people some years ago. It had good call quality, a batt allowing 3 hours of talk time or around 11 days of standby time, and a dedicated music button for users to quickly start and stop playback.
8. Sony Ericsson W800
Sony Ericsson was gone but we cannot forget its W800 music phone, also the first member of Sony Ericsson Walkman series. It impressed people with a fully functional MP3 player which could deliver great sound quality for its time. Besides, W800’s camera was also a good one!
9. Sony Ericsson K750i
Continuing is Sony Ericsson K750i. In its time, K750i was proud of being the only phone that “a camera enthusiast would have appreciated.” Additionally, it could produce good sounds as well due to using some features from the Walkman series.
10. BlackBerry Curve
Well, we guess it’s time for BlackBerry. They have Curve to take part in the list. Speaking specifically, the Curve was a business-focused BlackBerry phone. You could find a dedicated button for the company’s BBM Messenger, and the famous QWERTY keyboard on it.
11. HTC Dream
HTC Dream – a pretty name with an interesting design, huh?! Actually, it was also known as Google G1, the first phone of Google to rung on Android OS after they bought a company called Android Inc in 2005.
12. iPhone
If HTC Dream is the first Android phone of Google, we have iPhone to be the real start of the smartphone era. It was launched in 2007 and equipped with Apple’s iOS mobile operating system – one of the best besides Android nowadays. Some of iPhone specs were a 3.5-inch 320 x 480p screen, a 412MHz chip, 4/8/16GB ROM (non-expandable), and a 2MP main camera.
13. Samsung Galaxy Note
Finally we’ve got a phone from Samsung, but it’s a Note model, not a Galaxy S one. Nonetheless, we must mention that Samsung played an important role in the development of phablets today. It was a brilliant big smartphone with a useful stylus, and now we are all looking forward to its new successor called Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
14. Moto G
Next, it is Moto G, powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz chip. It is said that the manufacturer “took the market by storm” with this smartphone. It was affordable but strong with not only that processor but also other specifications such as a 4.5-inch HD display, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS (upgradable to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop), 8/16GB ROM (non-expandable), 1GB RAM, a combo of 5MP rear + 1.3MP front snapper, and a 2,070mAh cell.
15. Xiaomi Mi3
Last but not least, we would like to introduce a Xiaomi smartphone to you. They say “Xiaomi Mi3 was a Nexus 5 at the price of a Moto G” and we totally agree with that. It looks premium and the hardware is decent with 5.0-inch Full HD screen, MIUI 5.0 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS (upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat and to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon), a Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3GHz processor, 16/64GB of non-expandable ROM, 2GB RAM, a set of 13MP primary + 2MP selfie shooter, and a 3,050mAh batt with Quick Charge 2.0 (60% in 30 minutes).
